                               LEONARDO SANTI DESIGN

The Lady Sarah project—a Benetti Oasis 40M—was born from a close collaboration between Fraser, Leonardo Santi Design and the owner. It perfectly reflects our studio’s design philosophy: transforming a production yacht into a vessel with a distinctive identity while fully respecting the shipyard’s engineering, production workflow and delivery schedule.

The project began through Fraser, who drew on our extensive experience with Benetti to guide the owner through a highly personalised design process. The brief was both clear and ambitious: while appreciating the yacht itself, the owner felt the standard interior did not fully express his lifestyle and envisioned an environment with greater warmth, refinement and character. The challenge was to create a bespoke interior without affecting construction or delivery.

Thanks to our deep understanding of Benetti’s production methods, we were able to identify from the outset which interventions could be introduced without generating unnecessary costs or disrupting the build. Rather than altering the yacht’s layout or architectural language, we concentrated on carefully selected bespoke elements, including the owner’s bed and feature headboard, the bathroom vanity units, the main staircase, and a custom cabinet in the main saloon that became the visual focal point of the interior.

The most significant transformation, however, came through the careful selection of materials and finishes. Standard ceramic and teak bathroom surfaces were replaced with natural marble, while traditional teak flooring throughout the yacht gave way to Listone Giordano oak parquet laid in a Chevron pattern. These choices introduced warmth, texture and a sophisticated residential atmosphere that completely redefined the onboard experience.

A bespoke bronze finish became the project’s visual signature, unifying Gessi bathroom fittings, Cantalupi lighting fixtures and custom Yachtica switch plates. By enriching the material palette rather than modifying the yacht’s architecture, we achieved the appearance and atmosphere of a fully custom yacht while remaining faithful to Benetti’s design language.

Loose furniture also played a fundamental role in shaping the interiors. Pieces by Capital Collection, Minotti, Rugiano and Soft House brought elegance, comfort and personality to every space. The final layer was provided by the interior styling developed together with Bergomi Interiors, whose thoughtful selection of accessories, linens, decorative objects and artwork completed the yacht with the sophistication of a bespoke private residence.
