The interiors of MY Barbara Anne are characterized by a minimalist aesthetic, where every detail is carefully
designed to be essential and functional. The surfaces are smooth and fluid, with few ornaments or unnecessary
elements, highlighting the natural elegance of the forms.
The client’s request was for a yacht designed for those seeking a sophisticated yet understated style, where
beauty is defined by balanced proportions and subtle details, crucial for creating a sense of refined elegance.
The project’s focus was to incorporate an automotive reference, already present in the exterior design of the
DOM133 line. This reference to the automotive world translates into a perfect synthesis of performance and
luxury. The fluid, streamlined lines evoke the speed and dynamism of sports cars, while materials like oak and
bronze add a touch of refined, understated luxury. The design is further enriched by the integration of advanced
technologies and meticulous attention to detail, characteristic of the best automotive brands. In the Lower deck
cabins, iconic colors from supercars such as the Lamborghini Miura, Ferrari 250 GTO, and Aston Martin DB4 were
referenced, creating a direct connection between the yacht and the world of luxury automobiles.
Thus, the yacht’s design is not just a celebration of luxury, but a style statement that speaks of elegance,
innovation, and high performance.
The balanced proportions ensure that every part of the yacht harmoniously blends with the rest. The fluid, well-
balanced lines convey a sense of movement even when the yacht is stationary, giving a feeling of lightness and
dynamism.
Details, such as the bronze finishes, softly beveled edges, and the hidden integration of technology, are designed
to be functional without compromising aesthetics. These small touches elevate the design from purely
functional to a moving work of art on the sea. The wooden inlays, varied architectural details in each room
exemplify how minimalism does not necessarily imply a lack of complexity but rather a discreet, refined
complexity.
The use of light is a fundamental element, as it helps to highlight the yacht’s form, create unique atmospheres,
and enhance the overall onboard experience. Both natural and artificial light are carefully studied to showcase
the materials and amplify the sense of space and lightness.
Through a balance of natural and artificial lighting, light becomes a design material itself, shaping the yacht’s
aesthetics and atmosphere, emphasizing its clean lines and harmonious proportions.
The combined use of bleached oak for the paneling and bronze for the details highlights the balance between
warmth and modernity, making the yacht both welcoming and refined. This combination of materials creates a
sense of understated luxury, where each element is selected for its ability to blend seamlessly into the overall
design.
One of the most defining aspects of MY Barbara Anne is the seamless connection between interior and exterior
spaces. This fusion creates a fluid and harmonious continuity between the outside environment and the
interiors, offering a living experience that embraces the sea and the surrounding landscape. The removal of
ventilation trunks from the center of the main salon and the creation of large glass windows provide
uninterrupted panoramic views both on the main deck and upper deck, where two balconies have been added,
significantly increasing the available space. The large floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding doors create an almost
invisible transition between the deck and interior areas, allowing natural light and external views to become an
integral part of the interior environment. These transparent elements erase the sense of boundaries, making the
space feel as if it extends all the way to the horizon.
